The Kelly Gang's legendary last stand at the Glenrowan Inn is an iconic event in Victorian history.
A new display 'Unearthing Glenrowan', within The Changing Face of Victoria exhibition, focuses on the archaeological dig at the site of the Glenrowan siege.
In 2008 the Wangaratta Rural City Council commissioned the archaeological project.
A team of archaeologists led by Adam Ford from Dig International in association with La Trobe University excavated the site by hand.
More than 11,000 artefacts were recovered.
Artefacts from the siege included two solid Martini Henry cases believed to be used by police and two copper percussion caps, which may have been fired from Ned Kelly's rifle.
